Privacy Policy
This explains the information Mealune uses to provide your diary.
Account and sign-in
Mealune uses Firebase to verify your phone, Apple or Google sign-in. We use your verified account identifier and the profile details provided by your sign-in method to maintain your account. Different sign-in methods are linked only when you choose to link them.
Your diary and photos
Mealune stores the profile, goals, meals, foods and photos you choose to save in your account. Photos are saved to your diary when you log a meal or save a food. Unused analysis photos are removed automatically.
AI analysis is optional
When you take or select a meal photo, or submit text for analysis, Mealune sends the text, temporary links to the selected photos and relevant meal context to OpenAI. OpenAI reads the photos directly from private Cloudflare storage. Meal results are saved automatically and can be edited or removed. Saving a food to My foods requires confirmation. Manual logging does not use AI.
Your personal plan
Age, gender, height, weight, activity and plan preferences are optional. If you save them, Mealune stores them in your account to support your personal plan and energy estimates. You can change or clear these details in Settings, or skip setup entirely.
Health connections
When you connect Health, workouts, activity, measurements and date of birth are saved to your private account and restored when you sign in on another device. Meal and workout sharing follows your system permissions. Health data is not sent to AI or used for advertising. Manage access in your health app.
On your iPhone
Mealune keeps encrypted device drafts and account-scoped cached diary information to support editing and loading. Signing out clears local drafts and temporary photo previews. This app does not initialize advertising or analytics services.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Mealune registers this device for delivery through Apple Push Notification service. You can turn notifications off in Settings.
Your choices
Your account closes immediately. Diary data and photos are normally erased within 7 days. This cannot be undone.
Purchase records
Apple handles payment details. Mealune stores transaction IDs, subscription status, amounts, currency and signed receipts. Transactions are kept for 5 years after their recorded purchase, expiry or refund, whichever is latest. Subscription records are kept until 5 years after the subscription ends. A specific legal hold may extend retention. These records cannot restore your diary.
